Wet bunker for potato buffering
In potato processing facilities, maintaining an efficient flow of peeled or scraped potatoes to inspection tables can be challenging. Managing a buffer between stages can help streamline operations and ensure a consistent supply to the inspection process.

Buffers potatoes post-peeling with ease
The wet bunker NB by Sormac is designed for buffering potatoes after they have been scraped or peeled. It features a lateral infeed, which allows the product to fall directly into the water, reducing the risk of damage. Potatoes are transported from the wet bunker to subsequent stages, such as an inspection table, using a PVC slide chain and swanneck. A spray pipe on the outfeed side rinses the buffered potatoes and doubles as a freshwater infeed. The bunker includes a safety rack for protection. With a volume of approximately 600 liters of water, it can buffer around 200 kg of potatoes. Optional features include frequency control and standalone operation.
