Water bunker belt for pre-cleaning and conveying tuber vegetables
In industries where tuber vegetables need to be pre-cleaned and efficiently transferred to downstream peeling machines, there is often a need for technology that can handle high capacities and maintain continuous operation. Effective removal of soil and stones is essential for further processing.
Efficient pre-cleaning and conveying of tuber vegetables
The water bunker belt by KRONEN is designed for pre-cleaning and automatically transferring unpeeled potatoes, carrots, smaller celery tubers, sweet potatoes, beetroot, and turnips. Featuring a 585-liter tank, the system performs gentle pre-cleaning by soaking vegetables to loosen soil and stones, which settle in a designated collection bucket. The pre-cleaned vegetables are then transferred to downstream peeling machines via a cleated belt. Capacity ranges from 500 to 1500 kg/h, influenced by product type. The system includes a change chute for seamless filling and peeling cycles. Control is facilitated via a switch cabinet, integrated with the peeling machines or entire processing line. For added automation, a crate tipping device can be included to fill the water bunker belt automatically.
