The ultrasonic baths are available in three sizes: UR 1 for test sieves up to 203 mm diameter, UR 2 for test sieves up to 450 mm diameter, and UR 3 for simultaneous cleaning of up to 5 test sieves (200/203 mm diameter). The ultrasonic cleaning process involves a high-frequency generator producing about 35,000 oscillations per second, transferring these into the cleaning solution, and causing it to resonate. This creates cavitation effects—with innumerable small vacuum bubbles collapsing due to pressure and suction, thus removing dirt particles from even the deepest and least accessible places. This method prolongs the working life of the test sieves and avoids damage that manual cleaning could cause.
