Spiral roller grader for peeled potatoes
When processing peeled root vegetables, achieving consistent size grading is essential for quality control and downstream processing efficiency. Irregular sizes can cause issues in subsequent processing stages, affecting product uniformity and yield.

Grades peeled potatoes by diameter
The spiral roller grader SRS from Sormac is designed for sorting peeled root products, with a primary focus on potatoes. The grader features plastic rollers with spiral-shaped grooves that increase in depth and width toward the end. This unique design forms square openings of varying sizes between each roller pair, enabling precise diameter grading as the product moves forward. The infeed hopper with V-channels ensures even distribution across the grader’s width, while adjustable separation plates allow for flexible grading settings. The grader can handle potatoes ranging from Ø 20 mm to Ø 100 mm, with a capacity target of 1,000 kg/h, depending on the initial grading of the product. Optional features include frequency control and sorting sizes between Ø 15 mm and Ø 115 mm. The design is user-friendly, focusing on easy cleaning and maintenance.
