Shielded laminar flow isolator for nuclear medicine
The safe and sterile handling of beta/gamma-emitting radiopharmaceuticals is crucial for both patient outcomes and operator safety. Traditional methods can fall short in offering both radiation protection and sterility, leading to potential contamination and exposure risks.
Ensures sterility and operator protection
The ELENA Shielded Laminar Flow Isolator from Comecer is designed for the manipulation and calibration of beta/gamma-emitting radiopharmaceuticals. This isolator offers a laminar flow work area (Class A according to EEC-cGMP) and ventilated pre-chambers, ensuring sterile conditions for the product. The device uses shields to provide full radiation protection for the operator. Its ergonomic design places all components required for dose preparation within the operator’s reach. The isolator’s main door features a lock system, controlled by an internal double probe G.M. detector for added safety. Managed through a modern operator panel, it allows for control, adjustment, and export of internal parameters, notifications, and alarms. ELENA’s versatile design includes different shielding spacers and a large internal chamber, making it suitable for housing automatic synthesis modules or fractionators. Additional features include a touch screen for hot cell and dispensing system, DOP test connections, internal pressure automatic adjustment, and a solid waste collection system. The isolator is compliant with cGMP standards and is suitable for various applications within Nuclear Medicine departments.
