Root crop screw destoner
Efficiently removing stones and other heavy debris from root crops is critical in processing lines to prevent equipment wear and ensure product quality.
Remove stones and debris from root crops
The screw destoner SO by Sormac helps in the efficient separation of stones and heavy particles from root crops such as potatoes and carrots. It operates with a rectangular reception hopper and a vertical transport screw driven by a reduction gearbox. The screw auger, in combination with a water-filled hopper, gently lifts the product while allowing heavy debris to settle at the bottom. This design provides simple yet effective destoning, handling crops of up to 200 mm in diameter, with a maximum capacity of 5,000 kg per hour. Low water usage of approximately 100 liters per 1,000 kg ensures environmental considerations are met. The screw destoner minimizes product damage and is designed for durability with easy access for cleaning. Optional features include anti-splash feeding and electrically operated cranes for filling the hopper.
