Potato halving system

In high-volume potato processing facilities, the ability to efficiently and uniformly halve potatoes is crucial. The challenge lies in consistently aligning and cutting each potato accurately without manual intervention, ensuring a streamlined process in larger production lines.

Halve potatoes efficiently with automated precision

The Potato Halving System from Sormac is a specialized solution designed for accurate and efficient division of potatoes into two pieces. Potatoes are aligned on a roller bed with six parallel rows and then transported to a cutting section equipped with six rotating circular knives. This precise alignment and cutting mechanism ensures each potato is halved perfectly. A vibration chute helps in the even distribution of potatoes onto the roller bed, optimizing the process. The system operates with a stainless steel chain and a frequency-controlled motor that drives the rollers, guaranteeing consistent performance. The machine is constructed with a frame and adjustable support legs, featuring a casing with hinged sections for the drive and cutting components. For ease of maintenance, side plates and the drive chain can be easily disassembled. The electrical control panel integrated into the machine body includes all necessary switching and safety features along with frequency controllers and operating buttons. With a capacity of approximately 72,000 potatoes per hour, this system is highly efficient for large-scale potato processing. The design focuses on durability, hygiene, and simple operation, catering to the needs of industrial food processing.
