Hydrogen gas safety system for high-temperature tube furnaces
Handling hydrogen gas in high-temperature tube furnaces requires stringent safety measures to prevent hazardous situations and ensure reliable operation. An effective safety system is essential for applications involving metallic chamber retorts or processes from room temperature to maximum furnace capacity.
Ensures safe hydrogen gas handling in tube furnaces.
The Carbolite Gero Hydrogen Gas Safety System is designed to ensure the safe operation of tube and chamber furnaces using hydrogen gas. There are two variations of this system: one suitable for hydrogen use from 750°C to the maximum temperature and one for use from room temperature to the maximum temperature. This system includes a control cabinet, off-gas burner, and flexible pipes for direct connection to the furnace setup. It automatically purges the work tube or chamber with nitrogen, ensures hydrogen introduction only above the safety temperature of 750°C, and provides an end purge of nitrogen. Additionally, the system has adjustable flow meters for blending hydrogen and nitrogen to suit specific processes. Key features include over-pressure protection, excess flow protection, a purge timer, supply gas monitoring, electric ignitor, and a touch panel interface for automated operation. This system is compliant with necessary regulations ensuring pure hydrogen operations safely in laboratory and industrial environments.
