High pressure processing machine for juice
High-pressure processing (HPP) is one of the technologies in the manufacturing of fruit juice, smoothies, and vegetable juice, opening up opportunities in the food industry for fresh, natural, and less processed foods. While there is interest in adopting HPP, existing technology has a reputation of being expensive, and delicate to run. There is a need for a technology that reduces the total cost of ownership, operational cost, and cost for maintenance.
Increasing juice shelf-life without heat treatment
The Steribar HPP of Hydrolock is an automated high-pressure processing unit designed to increase the shelf-life of fresh juice without heat treatment while preserving its natural taste, color, vitamins, consistency and nutritional values. Fresh fruits are squeezed under cold conditions around 4˚C into HDPE or PET plastic bottles to keep the natural flavor of the fruit. The bottles arrive on the mechanical conveyor and are loaded automatically into the high-pressure vessel.
The pressure within the vessel is increased to 4000 bars within less than a minute by means of a medium-pressure pump and a pressure intensifier. The pressure inside the vessel is released immediately. Afterward, the processed products are unloaded and are exited towards the packaging machine, and simultaneously, new products are loaded on the conveyor. This process allows you to preserve some components (proteins and vitamins) and qualities of the juice while increasing its shelf-life up to 3 – 4 weeks.
The Steribar high-pressure processing equipment applies to a wide range of products such as meats, fruits and vegetables, beverages, seafood, dairy products, grains, and packed condiments. It has a throughput from 660 bottles per hour to 1400 bottles per hour for 1L to 200mL, which makes the Steribar HPP perfectly sized to start a business. The device can process different sizes and shapes of bottles with short-changing over time.
