Gloveless robotic filling cell for aseptic pharmaceutical processing

In the pharmaceutical industry, reducing human intervention in aseptic filling processes is critical to maintaining sterility and meeting regulatory standards. The challenge includes ensuring contamination control while handling various types of pre-sterilized containers such as syringes, vials, and cartridges.

Automates aseptic filling and closing processes

The robocell by Groninger is a gloveless, fully automated filling cell designed for the aseptic processing of ready-to-use (RTU) syringes, vials, and cartridges. This system is developed in partnership with SKAN, eliminating the need for human intervention in core processes. Featuring state-of-the-art robotic technology, robocell ensures a minimal risk of contamination by integrating smart robotic solutions and an advanced contamination control strategy (CCS). Capable of handling both small and medium batch sizes, the robocell offers high flexibility with various packaging materials and significantly reduces turnaround times. It also addresses the implementation of pre-use post-sterilization integrity test (PUPSIT) without glove ports. The system meets the stringent requirements of EU GMP Annex 1 and is ideal for filling synthetic and biological drugs under the highest containment requirements.

Benefits

  • Eliminates human intervention to maintain sterility
  • High flexibility with multiple packaging materials
  • Reduces turnaround times for higher operational efficiency
  • Supports integral contamination control strategy (CCS)
  • Complies with EU GMP Annex 1 regulations
