The BORSIG Ethylene Recovery Unit is designed to integrate seamlessly into both new and existing polyethylene production setups. The system presses the purge gas stream, which contains ethylene monomer and inert gas, into the membrane. The permeate side of the membrane then feeds the recycled ethylene-rich stream back to the process gas compressor’s suction side. This separation relies on the differential pressure and the selective properties of the hydrocarbon membrane. The result is a stream enriched with inert gas and another with recycled ethylene, ensuring efficient reuse of valuable ethylene without needing additional significant machinery.
