The GEA Emergency Gas Scrubber is designed to effectively manage accidental chlorine gas escapes. Utilizing GEA’s Jet Scrubber technology, the system is capable of auto-suction of surrounding air without the need for a mechanical ventilator. Critical gases, such as chlorine or ammonia, are chemically bound in the scrubbing liquid, typically caustic soda or sulfuric acid, and only cleaned air is released into the environment. Upon startup, the system is immediately ready for operation by simply switching on the circulation pump. This scrubber is available in four standard sizes, customized to meet specific plant requirements based on the volume of gas and air. Made primarily of polyethylene, it offers high operational safety and low maintenance. The pre-designated scrubbing liquid is stored in an integrated tank and automatically utilized during emergencies, ensuring instant response. The system finds its application largely in the chemical industry and water treatment plants, where numerous units are already in operation.
