Downdraft dryer for biomass drying

Efficient biomass drying is crucial when dealing with raw-harvested woody and herbaceous materials. Traditional drying methods often fail to deliver consistent results and require substantial energy consumption. There’s a need for a flexible system that can be relocated to different biomass sources while ensuring optimal drying performance.

Dries biomass with precision and flexibility

The Modular Relocatable Advanced Downdraft Dryer from Forest Concepts is designed to address common challenges in biomass drying. This dryer, which operates on a highway-legal 48-ft flatbed trailer, can be moved from site to site, providing versatility for varying project needs. It features six drying zones followed by a cooling zone, ensuring even drying with precise temperature and airflow control. Capable of removing up to 900 pounds of water per hour, dried biomass is directed to a supersack filling station or sent directly to an extraction facility. The intelligent controls facilitated by a Siemens PLC touchscreen interface or remote app access optimize drying processes for energy conservation and efficiency.

Benefits

  • Reduces drying time with multiple zones
  • Energy-efficient processing capability
  • Relocatable design for on-site flexibility
  • High water removal capacity
  • Remote control and monitoring
