Chestnuts steam peeling system

When processing chestnuts, efficient peeling is essential to ensure high-quality end products. Manual peeling methods often lead to inconsistencies and increased labor costs.

Automates chestnut peeling for uniform results

The Boema S.p.A. chestnut steam peeling line is a comprehensive solution for peeling chestnuts. Initially, the chestnuts are sized and separated from foreign bodies. They then pass through a multi-blade scoring unit, which makes a series of cuts on the skin. Subsequently, the chestnuts are conveyed to a worm screw boiler and moved to a separation belt where the skin and inner film are removed. The line concludes with a manual sorting belt and a tank with rinse water and an extraction elevator. The output is uniformly peeled chestnuts ready for freezing, significantly reducing inconsistencies and labor costs.

Benefits

  • Uniform and consistent peeling results
  • Reduces labor costs
  • Prepares chestnuts for immediate freezing
  • Efficient removal of both skin and inner film
