Automatic dispenser for radiopharmaceutical syringes

When working in environments where radiopharmaceuticals are handled, ensuring precise dosage and minimal exposure to radiation is crucial. Additionally, it’s important to maintain stringent control over the preparation and calibration processes for syringes, usually containing FDG, to meet safety standards and operational efficiency.

Automates syringe filling and calibration

The ALTHEA PC from Comecer is an automatic system designed for the precise filling and calibration of syringes with radiopharmaceuticals. This system can be connected to synthesis modules for internal production or can draw doses from a mother vial in a shielded container for external production. It includes a modular design and flexible configuration, with a touch screen interface for both the hot cell and dispensing system. Airtight connections ensure safety when handling radioactive fluids, and an integrated dose calibrator, available in 2 Ci or 20 Ci versions, allows for accurate dose measurements. The system reduces radiation exposure to operators while providing features like particle counter connections and automatic pressure adjustments for optimal operation. The ALTHEA PC supports filling volumes from 5 ml to 10 ml syringes, with some mechanical modifications required for larger sizes.

Benefits

  • Reduces radiation exposure for operators
  • Ensures precise dose calibration
  • Flexible for internal or external dose sourcing
  • Supports multiple syringe sizes
  • Enhances workflow with touch screen controls
