Vertical screw conveyor for pome fruit

Transporting large quantities of pome fruit requires a solution that can handle significant height differences while ensuring the thorough cleaning of the produce. Traditional horizontal conveyors might not effectively separate dirt and water, leading to compromised product quality.

Transports and cleans pome fruit vertically

The vertical screw conveyor by Bucher Unipektin is designed for the efficient transport of pome fruit, particularly to bridge large height differences between processing units. This conveyor system not only moves the fruit vertically but also utilizes a water sump at the base to clean and handle the fruit gently. The centrifugal force and slotted separators effectively remove water and dirt as the fruit ascends. With high-reliability and low-maintenance requirements, this conveyor is well-suited for continuous operation. The three-phase motor and V-belt drive ensure robust performance, and fresh water-cleaning can be added if necessary. Proximity switches secure the separators, requiring manual cleaning of grass and leaves periodically. Available in two models, it accommodates various capacity needs with up to 25 t/h for the 400 mm diameter model and up to 40 t/h for the 500 mm diameter model.

Benefits

  • High throughput with a small footprint
  • Low maintenance requirements
  • Effective separation of water and dirt
