Transparent glass barrier coating for Pet bottles

For manufacturers of beverages like juice, wine, and carbonated drinks, maintaining product quality during storage and distribution is crucial. Traditional PET bottles, while lightweight and durable, often fail to prevent gas permeation, leading to loss of taste, carbonation, and vitamins.

Enhance product longevity and preservation

The InnoPET Plasmax technology by KHS provides an internal glass barrier coating for PET bottles, effectively combining the protective properties of glass with the benefits of PET containers. The technology utilizes a SiOx coating applied to the bottle’s interior, creating FreshSafe PET® bottles that offer high gas barrier properties. This ensures the retention of carbon dioxide and prevents oxygen ingress, maintaining the beverage’s quality over time. The InnoPET Plasmax 12D can process up to 12,000 PET bottles per hour, while the InnoPET Plasmax 20Q and 20QS handle larger volumes and smaller containers respectively, with up to 46,000 bottles per hour. The Plasmax process is suited for products with a pH up to 4.5, while the Plasmax+ handles more demanding conditions with pH levels above 4.5. These coatings are fully transparent and allow for bottle-to-bottle recycling, ensuring environmental sustainability.
