Tablet friability tester
In pharmaceutical production, ensuring the mechanical strength of tablets during handling is critical. This includes minimizing mass reduction due to tumbling, vibration, or rubbing during packaging. Complying with USP <1216> and Ph. Eur. 2.9.7, manufacturers must limit weight loss to less than 1% for most products.

Ensures precise friability and abrasion testing
The FT2 by Sotax is a versatile single and dual drum friability tester designed for compliant friability and abrasion testing. It features SingleButton™ operation for swift menu navigation and automatic weight recording from an external analytical balance, providing seamless documentation of test protocols. The front-loading drums with automatic discharge enhance testing efficiency by allowing convenient sample insertion without drum removal. The FT2 offers programmable rotational speeds (20 – 50 rpm) in either time mode or revolution count mode, with a maintenance-free drive for gentle starts and stops. The drum’s 10° tilt ensures reproducible results by preventing irregular tumbling. It meets USP <1216>, EP 2.9.7, and other pharmacopoeia requirements, with additional options like abrasion drums for Russian Pharmacopeia compliance. Reports can be printed via Ethernet LAN, and electronic data management is facilitated through q-doc® software for GMP/GLP compliance.
