Small fruit sorter for sensitive cherry varieties
Handling sensitive cherry varieties such as Rainier and Royal Anne demands a precise sorting method to enhance packhouse throughput and ensure consistent packing quality. Traditional methods often fail to sort cherries by subtle variations in size, shape, and color effectively, leading to inefficiencies and product waste.

Sort cherries by size, shape, color, and defects
The Small Fruit Sorter (SFS) with InVision2 from TOMRA is specifically designed for sorting delicate cherry varieties. It improves throughput and pack consistency with its scalable design, which can be adapted from small units to high-volume turnkey solutions. This sorter utilizes InVision2 technology, providing seven views from color and infrared cameras to inspect cherries comprehensively for size, shape, color, and surface defects. The Sizer Control software allows operators to monitor the sorting process efficiently, while Dynamic Lane Balancing helps optimize capacity by diverting overfilled lanes to those with lower cupfill. Gentle water flumes, hydro-cushions, and water v-belts handle fruit delicately, ensuring minimal damage even at high speeds. The Sizer software package also includes production analysis tools for objective performance measurement and process improvement.
