Pilot-scale commercial rotary shear for biomass processing

When handling a variety of biomass materials such as wood chips, switchgrass, or corn stover, the challenge is achieving uniform particles for increased conversion efficiencies while maintaining low energy consumption and a compact footprint.

Process biomass with precision and efficiency

The M24P Series Crumbler® by Forest Concepts is a pilot-scale commercial rotary shear designed to handle diverse biomass feedstocks, including wood chips, corn stover, switchgrass, bamboo, sage, hemp, and agave. With the capacity to process up to 2 wet tons (1 dry ton) per hour or 4,000 wet tons (2,000 dry tons) per year, it offers a versatile solution for producing uniform particles. The machine operates with minimal energy consumption and features a PLC control system, full safety guarding, and a smooth, quiet operation. It includes multiple cutter-width processing heads available, tailored to specific feedstock requirements, allowing for flexibility in operations. The compact design (5′ x 6′ footprint) and 24-inch wide infeed capacity make it suitable for various pilot facility installations.

Benefits

  • Handles both high and low moisture feedstocks without pre-drying
  • Produces uniform particles for higher conversion efficiencies
  • Compact footprint saves space
  • Low energy consumption reduces operational costs
  • Supports a variety of biomass materials
