Nanofiltration system for dairy and plant-based applications

In the dairy and plant-based industries, controlling the concentration and demineralization of liquids such as whey, milk, and plant extracts is vital. Traditional methods often fall short in efficiency and sustainability, leading to higher costs and more waste.

Enhance concentration and partial demineralization

The Nanofiltration (NF) system by SPX Flow is designed for specific applications in the dairy and plant-based industries, including the demineralization of whey, milk, and plant-based extracts. NF membranes closely resemble Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes but feature a slightly more open structure. This allows them to pass small monovalent ions like Sodium, Potassium, and Chloride while rejecting larger polyvalent ions and most organic compounds. Operating under high pressure (up to 40 bar), the NF system combines concentration and partial demineralization in a single step. This results in higher production capacity, improved yields, and less waste by recovering valuable by-products and water. The system is pre-assembled at the manufacturing facility and is built for optimized performance, long membrane life, and low utility consumption.

Benefits

  • Proven components and system design ensure reliability.
  • Enhanced yield and reduced waste through efficient by-product recovery.
  • Optimized utility consumption for sustainability.
  • Pre-assembled systems minimize installation time.
  • User-friendly operation and maintenance.
