Laser photometer for respirator certification testing

In the development and certification of respirators, understanding the efficiency of filter assemblies and ensuring proper fit are crucial. Measuring particle penetration efficiently in high-efficiency filter assemblies is a key challenge.

Measures filter efficiency and respirator fit

The 8587A laser photometer by TSI Systems uses a 30 mW laser to illuminate and collect scattered light from airborne particles, making it suitable for high-efficiency filter testing and respirator certification. It employs an internal valve to switch between upstream and downstream sampling, aiding in precise measurement of filter penetration efficiencies. Additionally, it can determine fit factors up to 100,000 in respirator fit testing, providing reliable data for respirator design and development. The photometer is lightweight and portable, offering a wide dynamic range and signal correlation with aerosol mass concentration. Supplied with analog and digital outputs, it can be controlled manually or remotely via RS-232 or USB. The model includes an operation and maintenance manual, power cord, and necessary software.
