Grit classifier for wastewater treatment

During wastewater treatment, separating grit and sand from the influent is crucial to prevent equipment wear and ensure efficient operation. Effective sediment removal can dramatically reduce maintenance costs and system downtimes.

Separate grit and sand from wastewater

The GRITSEP DS Grit Classifier by WAMGROUP efficiently separates grit or sand from wastewater through decantation and removal using a conveyor screw. The system includes a large volume loading and sedimentation hopper, an inclined shaftless screw, a low-friction anti-wear liner, and a stainless steel trough, ensuring durability and minimal maintenance. Water flows through the inlet spout into the decanting hopper, where solid particles settle. The slow rotation of the screw enhances sedimentation, conveying, and discharging of de-watered grit and sand through the upper outlet. The cleaned water exits through the side discharge spout. The GRITSEP DS operates with liquid throughput ranging from 5 to 36 m³/h and solids throughput between 0.06 to 0.36 dm³/s. The design focuses on eco-friendly operation and high separation performance with low installation and maintenance costs.
