Energy efficient wort boiling system for breweries

Breweries need to optimize wort boiling to enhance beer quality and maintain energy efficiency. Traditional methods often lead to thermal stress and reduced hop yield. This challenge requires an effective solution to manage wort boiling and energy consumption together.

Optimizes wort boiling and energy management

The GEA JETSTAR® is an innovative wort boiling system integrating a two-phase boiling process in atmospheric kettles. In phase one, it ensures a homogeneous circulation with minimal thermal stress using an internal boiler. Phase two leverages a two-level wort spreader for efficient evaporation. No additional circulation pump is required, reducing pulsation and facilitating a stationary operating state during heating. This system is easy to retrofit into existing kettles and is designed for hygienic operation, minimizing downtime. Supported by GEA’s Intelligent Wort Management software, it allows optimal integration with any type of energy storage system. The reduced thermal stress and enhanced evaporation result in a higher hop yield and better product quality, making it suitable for varied recipe designs.

Benefits

  • Maintains homogeneous wort mixing with low thermal stress
  • Efficient evaporation through a two-level wort spreader
  • Hygienic design for easy cleaning and low downtime
  • Higher hop yield from higher average wort temperatures
  • Retrofit-compatible and integrates with various energy systems
