Dewatering solution for spent grain

Managing wet distillers or brewers grain immediately after brewing is crucial to prevent rotting and increase resale value. This process requires reducing moisture levels to around 60%, making the grain viable for multiple uses including animal feeds and fertilizers.

Reduce moisture in grain efficiently

The Bonnot Company’s Dewatering Extruders utilize a continuous mechanical screw press to lower the moisture content of spent grain. This efficient process brings moisture levels down to approximately 60%, making the grain dry to the touch. In addition to extending shelf life, this reduction also significantly cuts transportation costs, as the weight of the grain is lowered. The extruders are designed to be simple, robust, and cost-effective, featuring replaceable stainless steel screens, as well as shrouding and water collection devices to manage the extracted water. The model DW 8 Series, with a 10 HP motor and dimensions of 110″ x 24″ x 62.5″, processes up to 2000 lbs/hour, making it suitable for high-volume operations.
