Wort aeration system for craft breweries
In craft brewing, obtaining consistent and optimal yeast activity during fermentation is crucial. A major challenge is achieving uniform oxygen distribution in the wort to enhance yeast performance and ensure high quality beer production.

Ensures optimal oxygen uptake by wort
The GEA WORTSTAR Craft Wort Aeration system is designed for semi-automatic wort aeration in craft brewing. This system introduces sterile air into the wort through an annular gap nozzle, which generates fine and uniform air bubbles. This ensures maximum oxygen uptake by the wort and enhances yeast activity. The aeration unit is easy to clean with CIP (Clean-In-Place) and can be sterilized with steam, maintaining high hygiene standards. It features a capacity range of 30 to 195 hectoliters per hour and operates with standard wort pipe sizes ranging from DN 25 to DN 50. The wort flow rate is maintained between 1.0 and 2.5 meters per second with a maximum pressure loss of 1.5 bar. The system is semi-automatic, making it user-friendly for craft brewers.
