Travelling bridges for sludge removal in wastewater treatment plants

In wastewater treatment plants, efficiently removing sludge and scum from settling tanks is crucial to maintain clear water quality and system functionality. Traditional manual or insufficient automated methods can lead to challenges in timely and thorough sludge removal.

Removes sludge and scum from settling tanks

The PVV Travelling Bridges, by WAMGROUP, are specifically designed for sludge and scum removal in both municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. These bridges consist of a movable truck positioned on traction trolleys, operated by a central gear motor connected to trolley drive wheels. Equipped with a surface scraper and one or more immersed pumps, the bridge can travel along tanks up to 12 meters wide and 50 meters long. As the bridge travels back and forth, the sludge is conveyed into an external hopper by the pump, and scum is collected by a surface scraper and transferred to a scum collecting channel. Constructed from hot dip galvanized carbon steel or stainless steel (304 L / 316 L), these bridges offer durability and low maintenance costs. Different options, such as sludge suction by air lift or painting, provide flexibility for various applications.
