Tomato receiving and sorting system

In tomato processing, ensuring that incoming raw tomatoes are clean and free of impurities before further processing is crucial. Challenges include removing mud, stones, and foreign bodies, as well as achieving a high level of cleanliness to ensure the quality of the final product.

Efficient unloading, washing, and sorting of tomatoes

The receiving and sorting system by FBR ELPO is designed to handle the initial phase of tomato processing with precision and efficiency. This system unloads tomatoes from trucks or bins using water spray nozzles and feeding channels. Washing is conducted with a shower system mounted on a roller elevator to maximize cleaning. An automatic scraping system (redler) eliminates mud, stones, and other impurities from the bottom, while a water filtration system keeps recirculated water free from solid deposits. After washing, tomatoes are transported through sorting channels to reach the optical sorter, which removes any residual foreign bodies. This system supports operating capacities ranging from 5 tons per hour (t/h) to 100 t/h of fresh tomatoes, making it versatile for various processing scales.

Benefits

  • Removes impurities such as mud and stones efficiently
  • Optical sorting for removing foreign bodies
  • Handles varying capacities from 5 t/h to 100 t/h
  • Maintains water quality with a dedicated filtration system
