Tobacco stem flattening system

In the tobacco processing industry, handling tobacco stems efficiently is crucial for quality control and downstream processing. Uneven or bulky stems pose challenges in mixing, flavoring, and further processing, leading to inconsistencies in the final product.

Flatten cut and whole stems into uniform flakes

The CLM series from Comas (Coesia Group) is designed for the precise flattening of tobacco stems, available in three sizes to meet various processing demands. These flatteners feature two robust, 650mm diameter rotating rollers positioned one in front of the other, with an adjustable gap that determines the thickness of the flattened stems. The roller gap, if set to 1.0mm, allows the CLM650/650 model to process up to 2,200 kg/h, the CLM650/850 model up to 3,000 kg/h, and the CLM650/1100 model up to 3,850 kg/h. Side pistons automatically separate the rollers to protect against overload and foreign bodies. Each flattener comes with feed and discharge vibratory conveyors—the feed conveyor ensures an even spread of stems, while the discharge unit is equipped with a reject flap for removing large or foreign objects.

Benefits

  • Uniform stem thickness ensures consistent product quality
  • High processing capacities to meet production demands
  • Automatic protection against overload increases roller lifespan
  • Vibratory conveyors for even distribution and efficient rejection
  • Three sizes available to suit different processing needs
