Shielded refrigerating cell for thermo-sensitive radioactive kits
In radiochemistry and nuclear medicine laboratories, the storage of thermo-sensitive radioactive kits poses a unique challenge. Maintaining low temperatures while ensuring radiation safety is crucial to preserving the integrity of these materials.
Securely store radioactive materials at controlled temperatures
The FSI-C Shielded Refrigerating Cell from Comecer is designed specifically for the storage of low-activity, thermo-sensitive radioactive kits. This stainless steel unit has a columnar structure with a hinged door with a key lock for enhanced security. The cell houses both a refrigerator and a freezer for flush mounting. Ventilation is ensured by its height and two grid screens on the back side. With outrigger feet, it can be positioned close to decontaminable walls. The internal space offers a 180-liter refrigerator capacity (operating between +1 to +4 °C) and a 40-liter freezer capacity (operating at -18 °C). The cell’s robust construction includes 1.5 mm thick INOX AISI 304 Scotch-BriteTM stainless steel and 3 mm lead shielding, providing a weight of 359 kg and external dimensions of 700 x 700 x 1800 mm.
