Shielded canisters for radioactive solid waste disposal

Managing radioactive solid waste requires containment solutions that can shield harmful radiation while ensuring easy handling and decontamination. Standard disposal methods often challenge operators with safety and contamination risks.

Shield harmful radiation safely and efficiently

The Comecer CR Series consists of shielded canisters for the safe and efficient disposal of radioactive solid waste. Constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-BriteTM decontaminable finish, these canisters are designed for durability and easy decontamination. Each canister is shielded with 3 mm of lead in all directions, offering robust radiation protection. A unique feature is the helical screw mechanism for the lid, operated by a foot pedal, allowing for hands-free opening and closing. The series includes two models: the CR20-05 with a capacity of 20 liters, a weight of 30 kg, and dimensions of 280 mm x 500 mm (Ø x h); and the larger CR40-03 with a capacity of 40 liters, a weight of 25 kg, and dimensions of 380 mm x 515 mm (Ø x h). These canisters are ideal for use in nuclear medicine, radiopharmacy, and other settings where radioactive waste management is critical.
