The LEAF paper packaging machine from KRONEN, developed in collaboration with GKS Packaging B.V., is designed for packaging agricultural products such as whole, unpeeled potatoes, carrots, and onions in recyclable, compostable paper bags. The machine creates pillow or block bottom bags with adjustable widths ranging from 190 mm to 400 mm and unlimited length per sealing step up to 480 mm. Using FSC® certified mono-material, the paper maintains its structure without absorbing moisture from the product. The modular and open design ensures ease of cleaning and maintenance, with some components constructed from recycled ocean plastic. Additionally, the machine has iPad interfaces for intuitive operation, LED lighting for status display, and an inline net applicator for secure bag sealing. Conventional packaging film is also compatible with the LEAF machine.
