Optical sorting for vinification grapes

In winemaking, the precise selection of grapes is critical to ensuring the highest quality end product. Winemakers need an efficient system to rapidly and accurately remove defects such as stalks, leaves, and unripe grapes, especially in high-production settings.

Select, sort, and purify vinification grapes

The VITISORT® by Siprem International is an advanced optical sorting solution specifically designed for vinification grapes. This system can handle white, red, and pink grapes, using a compact, energy-efficient design. Grapes are first distributed onto a vibrating belt from the destemming machine, then fed into the optical unit. The optical sensor identifies defects such as toads, leaves, leaf stalks, insects, and unripe berries, which are then ejected using air jets. Sorted grapes proceed directly to further processing stages. Operators can configure the system via a touchscreen interface, making it easy to adapt to various grape conditions. Additionally, the VITISORT® system is Industry 4.0 compatible and offers remote assistance options. The equipment is available in three models, capable of processing up to 15 tons of grapes per hour, depending on the grape variety and defect load.
