Hydrocarbon liquefaction process for plastic waste

In today’s waste management industry, efficient recycling processes are essential to address the challenge of transforming plastic waste into valuable resources. The goal is to minimize environmental impact while maximizing resource recovery.

Convert solid hydrocarbons into liquid form

The CARBOLIQ process is a unique method for liquefying solid hydrocarbons using thermal, catalytic, and mechanochemical mechanisms. It operates under atmospheric pressure and temperatures below 400 °C, ensuring high oil yields with minimal gas production. The process energy is solely generated through friction. CARBOLIQ can handle a wide range of input materials, making it versatile for various waste types. The industrial-scale facility, located at the waste management center in Ennigerloh and operated in cooperation with ECOWEST, is designed for continuous processing of standard substitute fuels. Since March 2021, this recycling plant has been certified under the ISCC-Plus sustainability criteria. With a nominal capacity of 2.5 kilotons per annum, CARBOLIQ provides an efficient, sustainable solution for plastic waste conversion.

Benefits

  • High oil yield from plastic waste
  • Minimal gas production during processing
  • Operates under atmospheric pressure and low temperatures
  • Certified for sustainability under ISCC-Plus
