Film separation system for recycling processes
In recycling operations, the presence of thin plastic films like shopping bags and wrappings complicates the sorting process, leading to inefficiencies and increased manual labor. Efficient removal of these films early in the process is essential to streamline separation and improve overall throughput.
Removes films quickly at the start of sorting
The BRS Filmgrabber is a specialized system designed by Bollegraaf to efficiently separate plastic films from a recyclables stream. Positioned upstream of the sorting process, it removes over 70 percent of films larger than A4 size. The system includes a revolving drum with retractable pins and a variable speed motor, which uses air to elevate recyclables and allow films to be caught by the pins. The self-cleaning mechanism ensures minimal maintenance, thanks to the drum’s inward and outward moving pins. Additionally, the system features an aeraulic suction system with an integrated dust collector, capable of handling 20,000 M³/H. Constructed with high-quality materials and designed for robustness, the BRS Filmgrabber offers reliable performance with low maintenance requirements, making it suitable for various recycling facilities.
