Exhaust gas recirculation and bilge water treatment system

In marine operations, managing both the contaminants in exhaust gases and oily bilge water is crucial for compliance with environmental regulations. Contaminants like soot, sulfur compounds, and acidic components can pollute marine environments if not treated effectively.

Combined system for Egr wash water and bilge water

The GEA bilgEGR Solution is a dual-purpose system designed to treat both Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) wash water and oily bilge water on board ships. This system minimizes equipment and installation costs by combining two essential functions into one. The fully automated system ensures that the EGR wash water, which may contain soot, sulfur compounds, and acidic components, is treated effectively before being discharged. The system is flushed between switching from bilge water treatment to EGR wash water treatment to ensure the fluids are handled separately. The GEA bilgEGR Solution is type-approved by DNV Class and can be retrofitted to existing bilge systems.

Benefits

  • Economic two-in-one solution with minimal space requirement
  • DNV type approved
  • Reduced energy consumption and low operating costs
  • Easily exchangeable drive system
  • PLC controlled flushing of system
