Dewatering screw conveyor for screenings

Handling screenings from the flushing water circuit often requires effective dewatering to reduce volume and lower disposal costs. Conventional techniques may leave a high water content, increasing waste processing challenges.

Efficiently dewater and transport screenings

The Bucher Dewatering Screw Conveyor is a specialized system designed for the dewatering and transport of screenings from the flushing water circuit. Screenings enter the screw conveyor via an inlet hopper where they are conveyed through a cylindrical segment. During this process, a portion of the water is drained through a slotted plate into a drainage collector. The remaining dewatered solids, which are significantly reduced in volume, continue to the next stage in the process or are discharged into a container for disposal. An integrated self-cleaning grid in the dewatering section ensures consistent performance and minimal maintenance. The unit features a screw diameter of 400 mm, a standard length of 3600 mm, and operates at a screw speed of 20 rpm, powered by a 3 kW motor. The design also allows for the recycling of separated flushing water. Bucher Unipektin supplies this equipment, which is ideal for applications requiring efficient and reliable dewatering solutions.

Benefits

  • Reduces volume of screenings, lowering disposal costs
  • Integrated self-cleaning grid reduces maintenance
  • Separate drainage system allows water recycling
  • Handles capacities up to 10 t/h
  • Compact design with standard lengths of 3600mm
