Corn seed sorting solution
In the production of sweet and seed corn, sorting and grading the corn to meet precise size and quality specifications is essential. Producers face challenges in achieving efficient sorting while minimizing defects, reducing labor, and ensuring product quality.

Efficiently sorts and grades corn seeds
The Zea by TOMRA is a specialized solution for sorting and grading corn seeds, designed to meet the needs of sweet and seed corn producers. This system uses top-mounted combined color and near-infrared (NIR) optical sensors that scan each kernel’s surface ‘in flight,’ allowing for an unobstructed, high-capacity sort. Gentle handling is assured, with first-grade produce passing through directly, while second and third grades are redirected by intelligent paddle ejectors. The color vision technology evaluates size, shape, and color, and NIR sensors detect and remove defects and foreign materials with a 3-way rejector. Its user-friendly interface, available in multiple languages, enables seamless operation adjustments. The robust design ensures low maintenance, making it a cost-efficient solution for improving sorting accuracy and reducing operational costs.
