Color measurement tool for ground coffee
In the coffee industry, ensuring consistent quality and appearance of ground coffee can be challenging. Accurate color measurement is critical to maintain uniformity and meet quality standards across different batches.

Measure coffee color with precision
The Colorette 4 from Probat is engineered to measure the color of ground roast coffee using reflection measurement in the visible spectrum. A white clock-pulsed LED illuminates the coffee sample, and a sensor captures the reflected light to determine the coffee’s color, displaying the result on a touch screen. The device can output results in various color scales, including the Colorette scale, L*a*b color space, or a user-defined scale, making it adaptable to different requirements. It features an Ethernet port for integration into the PROBAT PILOT PLANT control system or connection to a local PC, and a USB port for saving readings to an external device. The LED lasts up to 30,000 operating hours, ensuring long-term reliability.
