Central traction clarifiers for wastewater sludge removal
In wastewater treatment, removing biological sludge efficiently from primary and secondary settling tanks is crucial for maintaining the overall effectiveness of both municipal and industrial purification plants.

Efficient removal of biological sludge
The PTC Central Traction Clarifiers by WAMGROUP are specialized structures designed to effectively remove biological sludge from circular primary and secondary settling tanks. The system consists of a central drive shaft with flanges that connect to both the drive unit and scraper blades. Wastewater is introduced into the concrete tank through a central cylinder that disperses the liquid, allowing sludge to settle at the bottom. The scrapers, moved by the slowly traversing truck, direct the accumulated sludge toward a central sump pit. The treated water exits through a peripheral launder fitted with Thomson profile weirs. The system is constructed from hot dip-galvanized carbon steel, 304 L, or 316 L stainless steel, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion. Suitable for tanks up to 18 meters in diameter, the PTC Clarifiers are designed for quick installation and low maintenance, making them applicable for various industries including municipal wastewater treatment, pulp and paper processing, and tanneries.
