Ashing furnace for sensitive analytical applications
In analytical laboratories, contamination from furnace chamber materials like alumina or silica dust can compromise test results. Moreover, standard furnaces often struggle to contain aggressive vapors from acids, posing challenges in handling corrosive samples.
Ensures contamination-free ashing operations
The Ashing Furnace GSM from Carbolite Gero is specifically designed to address contamination and containment issues in analytical applications. With a maximum operating temperature of 1100°C, this furnace features a fused quartz chamber, making it ideal for analysis where alumina or silica contamination is a concern. The chamber’s lining offers superior containment of aggressive and corrosive vapors such as sulfuric, nitric, and hydrochloric acids, preventing them from reaching the heating elements. An optional gas inlet feature enhances this containment, reducing gas leakages. The GSM model includes the Carbolite Gero 301 controller, which supports single ramp set-point and process timer functionalities. The furnace utilizes four-sided heating (from two sides, the roof, and the hearth) and comes with a molded ceramic fiber door plug, ensuring uniform temperature distribution and efficient operation.
Benefits
- Prevents contamination from alumina and silica dust
- Superior containment of corrosive vapors
- High maximum operating temperature
