Travelling bridges for grease and grit removal in wastewater treatment
In municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, efficient removal of grease and grit is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and meeting environmental standards. Traditional methods often struggle with high maintenance and operational costs, which can hinder treatment plant performance.

Efficiently remove grease and grit from wastewater
The PVA Grease and Grit Removal Travelling Bridges by WAMGROUP offer a sophisticated solution designed to enhance the efficiency of grease and grit removal in rectangular tanks. These bridges consist of a movable truck supported on two traction trolleys, with an installed surface scraper and an immerged pump beneath the truck. Utilizing a central gearbox connected to the trolley drive wheels, the bridge divides the tank into two main parts: one for grit settling and the other for grease collection. An optional air injection system generates a circular movement in the grit channel, effectively separating organic and floating particles from the grit. As the bridge travels, it conveys settled grit into the grit collection hopper through the bottom scraper when moving in one direction, and gathers scum and floating particles with the surface scraper when moving in the opposite direction. The system is highly versatile, catering to tanks up to 8 meters wide and 50 meters long, and is built with hot dip-galvanised carbon steel or stainless steel options (304 L / 316 L SS). It also features quick installation and low maintenance costs, making it suitable for both new and existing tanks.
