Peripheral traction clarifier for sludge suction
In municipal and industrial waste water treatment plants, efficient removal of biological sludge and floating particles is crucial. Without an effective method, these substances compromise water quality and treatment efficiency.

Remove sludge and floating particles
The PTA Peripheral Traction Clarifier by WAMGROUP is designed to effectively remove biological sludge and floating particles in primary and secondary settling tanks. These clarifiers operate with a movable truck supported at the center by a rotating central support and at the periphery by a traction trolley, all controlled by a gearbox connected to a slip ring. Waste water is introduced through a central cylinder which disperses the liquid, allowing sludge to settle at the bottom of the tank and lighter particles to float. Special syphon pipes with scraper blades suck the settled sludge, which is adjusted using telescopic valves on the walkway. Floating matter is collected by a surface scraper and directed into a scum box. The clarified water flows through Thomson profile weirs into the peripheral launder. The PTA Clarifier can handle tanks up to 60 meters in diameter and is constructed using hot dip-galvanized carbon steel or 304 L / 316 L stainless steel depending on the application needs.
