Fully automated suture winding system

In the production of surgical sutures, ensuring consistency and precision is crucial to maintaining high standards of safety and efficacy. Challenges include maintaining the integrity of the needle-suture combination and ensuring accurate placement in packaging trays.

Streamline suture packaging with precision winding

The UTW 20 by Harro Hoefliger is a fully automated system designed for winding and packaging surgical suture material in trays. It stands out due to its patented gripper system that carefully feeds the needle into the tray, securing it in the needle park. The thread winding process is swift and accurate, thanks to the Suture Control Arm (SCA) and servo motor drive for easy format changeover. The machine also supports the automated feeding of trays and paper lids, with inline batch data printing and ultrasonic sealing. This system is highly adaptable to the sterilization process, making it suitable for diverse needle-suture combinations and ensuring perfectly filled trays. The production output reaches up to 20 products per minute.
